Last month, I shared Part 2 of an eight-part series documenting the Boise food community’s response to COVID-19. Now, Part 3 is out!
If you missed Part 1, “Generosity in a Crisis,” click here to read it.
And if you missed Part 2, “Meet Boise’s Food Waste Warriors,” click here.
For this third piece, “Giving Under the Radar,” I sat down with Chad Johnson, co-founder of FARE Idaho and co-owner of Reef, BrickYard Steakhouse, Legends Sports Pub & Grill, Front Door Tap House, and Brixx Crafthouse along with his wife, Kristi.
The Johnsons are an incredibly humble pair of restaurateurs who went above and beyond to help the Boise community during COVID-19 despite the challenges it posed to their own eateries. They went to far as to provide meals to their staff during lockdown when their restaurants were closed. Click here to read the full story.
“Giving Under the Radar” was created in partnership with FARE Idaho, the Boise City Department of Arts & History, and photographer Marilyn Isaac.
