Last month, I shared Part 6 of an eight-part series documenting the Boise food community’s response to COVID-19. Now, Part 7 is out!

This bittersweet piece tells the story of beloved and soon-to-close Boise restaurant Petite 4’s partnership with the kitchen garden company Gold Feather Gardens.

To write it, I sat down with chef Sarah Kelly of Petite 4 and gardener Jamie Brennan of Gold Feather Gardens to learn how they helped community bloom through COVID-19, one plant start and boxed dinner at a time. Click here to read the full piece.

“Petite 4 Grows Community” was created in partnership with FARE Idaho, the Boise City Department of Arts & History, and photographer Marilyn Isaac.
