Earlier this year, I shared Part 7 of an eight-part series documenting the Boise food community’s response to COVID-19. Now, Part 8 is out!

We’ve reached the final chapter of our series. For this piece, I spoke with Hana Mutlak, the owner of Boise’s Food Land Market, about her life as a grocer, Iraqi refugee, and donor to the local nonprofit City of Good.

Mutlak’s story is inspirational. After traveling to Boise from Iraq, she used her time and talent to cook free meals for fellow refugees. Click here to read her story.

“Love Tastes Like Falafel” was created in partnership with FARE Idaho, the Boise City Department of Arts & History, and photographer Marilyn Isaac.
